Tigers have confirmed their place in the final of Tri-Nation T20I Tournament with an easy win against Zimbabwe in Chattogram. Bangladesh will play their last group match against Afghanistan on September 21 at the same venue.

Zimbabwe decided to bat first after winning the toss. Bangladesh made three changes in the playing eleven from the last match. Shafiul Islam, Najmul Hossain and Aminul Islam Biplob came to the side. Najmul and Aminul made their T20I debut in this match.

Batting first Bangladesh made a formidable total of 175 for 7. Liton Kumar Das gave the perfect start to the innings with a 22-ball 38-run knock. The visitors were putting a fightback by picking up three quick wickets including Liton, Najmul and skipper Shakib Al Hasan.

But a 78-run stand between Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah helped Bangladesh to score past the 170 runs mark. Mahmudullah struck his 4th T20I fifty and dismissed after scoring 62 off 41 balls. Kyle Jarvis bagged 3 wickets for 32.

Defending 175, bowlers were at their very best from the start of Zimbabwe innings as they were scale down to 66 for 7 in the 13th over. The match was all but over there as Richmond Mutumbami’s 58-run knock only reduced the defeat margin. Zimbabwe were eventually all out for 136 in the final delivery of 20th over. Shafiul grabbed his career best 3 for 36 while debutant Aminul scalped 2 wickets for 18.
