Bangladesh clinches dramatic victory

Bangladesh was just about to slip after a long interval from International Cricket. Afghanistan just needed 28 from the last 4 overs. But some amazing death over bowling from Shakib Al Hasan, Rubel Hossain and Taskin Ahmed, Bangladesh clinched a dramatic 7 run victory.

Chasing the modest total of 265, Afghanistan was steadily cruising towards victory. Two openers started with a quickfire 46, and between five balls, both of them departed. Rahmat Shah and Hashmatullah Shahidi then took the control of the match. The duo added 144 runs in the third wicket. The hope of Bangladesh was fading away in the horizon.

Then Shakib gave the breakthrough by dismissing Rahmatullah. taijul thewn got rod of Shahidi. But Mohammad Nabi seemed to snatch the match away of Bangladesh. Shakib gave only 1 run in the crucial 47th over. In the very next over, Taskin dismissed the biggest threat Nabi. He also dismissed the captain Stanikzai in the same over. Rubel bowled an excellent 49th over to concede 8 runs. And in the final over, Taskin also took two wickets by conceding only 5 runs. Bangladesh had the last laugh.

Before then, Tamim Iqbal helped Bangladesh to make a solid start. The dashing Bangladesh opener was cruising to his seventh ODI century, but ultimately got dismissed at 80. Mahmudullah also scored an important 62. And Shakib Al Hasan made a quickfire 48 of 40 balls. Apart from them Imrul Kayes made some handy contribution with his 37. Dawlat Zadran of Afghanistan grabbed 4 wickets.
