Another tough at the Chattogram Test put the Tigers in pressure as the visitors extended their first innings lead to a big one. At stumps on day three, Afghanistan posted 235 for 8 in their second innings with a lead of 374 runs.

Bangladesh started the third day with the overnight score of 194 for 8. Taijul Islam got in the first over of the day and then Nayeem Hasan also departed early after couple of overs. Mosaddek Hossain remained not out on 48 as Tigers were bowled out for 205. Rashid Khan scalped 5 wickets for 55.

Skipper Shakib Al Hasan gave Bangladesh the perfect start with two wickets in the first over. Nayeem then got rid of Shahidi on 12 to reduce the visitors for 28 for 3. Just when it looked like Bangladesh will make a comeback in the match, two half-centurion Ibrahim Zadran and Asghar Afghan added 108 runs in the fourth wicket.

Zadran’s 87 and Asghar’s 50 alongside unbeaten Afsar Zazai’s 34-run knocks helped Afghanistan to extend their lead over the 350 runs mark at the end of the days play. Shakib claimed 3 wickets for 53.
