Bangladesh have lost the first T20I by 7 wickets against West Indies at St. Kitts. With this win, the hosts lead the 3-match series 1-0.

Batting first, Bangladesh had a poor start after losing Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar in the very first over of the match. Liton Kumar and Shakib Al Hasan then played some counter-attacking strokes and added 38 runs in the 3rd wicket stand. Then Paul put more pressure on Bangladesh by dismissing both Liton and Shakib in the sixth over. Then it was Mahmudullah’s 35 off 27 which helped the Tigers to post 143 for 9 in 20 overs. Kesrick bagged 4 wickets for 28.

Rain delayed the start of West Indies innings as the match was reduced to 11 overs with the target of 91. Mustafizur gave an excellent start to Bangladesh by picking up two wickets in the second over. But since then Samuels and Russell dominated the bowlers as Windies clinched a 7-wicket victory in 9.1 overs with 7 wickets in hand. Russell was remained not out on 35 while Samuels was dismissed after scoring 26. Mustafizur took 2 wickets for 18.
