Bangladesh have lost the first Test in Indore despite rasistance from Mushfqur Rahim on the third day. India won the match by an innings and 130 runs and take a 1-0 lead in the series. Second and final Test which will be a Day-Night Test will be starting from November 22 in Kolkata.

India declared their first innings in the morning with the overnight score of 493 for 6 with a lead of 343 runs. Like in the first innings, top order batsmen were struggling in the second innings to make an impact as Bangladesh lost 5 wickets for 72. But Mushfiqur Rahim again stood out on the other to pick up his 20th Test fifty and provided some fightback post the lunch session.

Mushfiqur made two fifty plus partnerships with Liton Kumar Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz in the sixth and seventh wicket which gave some hope Bangladesh to avoid the innings defeat. But both Liton and Miraz got out in 30’s while Mushfiqur was dismissed on 64 as the ninth batsman after trying to clear the boundary to Ravichandran Ashwin. They were finally all out for 213 in 59.3 overs.

Player of the match Mohammed Shami scalped 4 wickets for 31 for India.
