Result : Afghanistan won by 224 runs.

Bangladesh suffer defeat in the Only Test against Afghanistan on the final day after rain washed out the first two sessions at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram. The visitors won the match by 224 runs and clinched the series.

Only 2.1 overs of play was possible in the first as the continuous rain stopped the play. After the the Tea break, rain was stopped and Bangladesh resumed their innings on 144 for 6. Unfortunately for the Tigers, Zahir Khan picked up the wicket of skipper Shakib Al Hasan in the very first ball on 44.

Soumya Sarkar and Mehidy Hasan batted the next couple of overs without further trouble before Rashid Khan trapped Mehidy lbw on 12. Next batsmen Taijul Islam too got out cheaply as Afghanistan put the Tigers in all sorts of trouble. Soumya looked good on the other end as he tried to put a fightback with the last batsman Naeem Hasan to draw the match.

But his resistance was not enough as Rashid dismissed him on 15 to give his side a win with less than four overs of days play. Rashid Khan bagged 6 wickets for 49 and also named player of the match.

The Tri-Nation T20I series between Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Zimbabwe will start from September 13.
