Bangladesh lost only tour match before ODI series

SA XI : 257/4 in 46.3 overs (Markram 82, Breetzke 71, de Villiers 43; Mahmudullah 2/13, Mashrafe 1/47, Nasir 1/52)

Result : South Africa XI won by 6 wickets.

Bangladesh lost the only tour match by 6 wickets against South Africa XI ahead of 3-match ODI series.

Mashrafe Bin Mortaza won the toss and decided to bat first at Mangaung Oval, Bloemfontein. After early loss of Soumya, Imrul, Mushfiqur and Liton on 63, Bangladesh were in trouble. But Shakib Al Hasan and Sabbir Rahman’s half-century helped Tigers to score past 250. Bangladesh were all out for 255 in 48.1 overs. Shakib scored the highest knock of 68 off 67 balls. Frylinck, Budaza, Phangiso and Siboto all picked up 2 wickets each.

In reply Aiden Markram and Matthew Breetzke’s half-centuries inspired South Africa XI to an easy 6 wickets victory in 46.3 overs. Markram top scored with 82. Mahmudullah bagged 2 wickets for 13. Other two wickets were shared by Mashrafe and Nasir Hossain.

3-match ODI series between Bangladesh and South Africa will start from October 15 at De Beers Diamond Oval, Kimberley.
