Bangladesh succumb to innings defeat despite fightback

Bangladesh (2nd innings) : 144/10 in 40.2 overs (Nurul 64; Gabriel 5/77)

Result : West Indies won by an innings and 219 runs.

Bangladesh started the West Indies tour with a defeat as the hosts clinch an innings and 219 runs victory in the first iPay Test at Antigua.

Bangladesh started the third day with the overnight score of 62 for 6. Jason Holder dismissed Mahmudullah on the first delivery of the day on 15. After the departure of Rabbi, Nurul Hasan tried to put some sort of fightback with Rubel Hossain. They added 57 runs in the ninth wicket.

Nurul was dismissed after scoring his career-best knock of 64 off 74 balls. Soon Miguel Cummins got rid of Rubel as Bangladesh were bowled out for 144 in 40.2 overs. Shannon Gabriel scalped 5 wickets for 77 for Windies.

Kemar Roach was named man of the match for his 5-wicket haul in the first innings.
