The hosts had another tough day at Chattogram in the second day of One-off Test against Afghanistan. After bowling out the visitors for 342, Tigers ended the day on 194 for 8. They trail by 148 runs.

Afghanistan started the day two with the overnight score of 271 for 5. Taijul Islam gave two early breakthrough in the morning and removed Asghar Afhan and Afsar Zazai for 92 and 41 respectively. Skipper Shakib and Mehidy then took the other three wickets but Rashid Khan’s fifty guided his team to a solid first innings total of 342 in 117 overs. Taijul was the most successful bowler with 4 wickets for 117.

In reply Bangladesh lost opener Shadman in the first over and reduced to 1 for 1 before the lunch break. Liton Kumar Das played some excellent shots during his 33-run knock before bowled out by Rashid. Rashid kept more pressure on the middle order as his double-wicket over before the tea break put Bangladesh in a big trouble after losing 5 wickets for 88.

Post the break, Mominul Haque played aggressively and brought up his 13th Test fifty in a hurry. His innings was cut short by Mohammad Nabi who got rid of him on 52. Bangladesh were in big trouble when they lost the 8th wicket for 146.

But then Mosaddek Hossain and Taijul made an unbeaten 48-run partnership and batted till the end of the days play. Mosaddek was unbeaten on 44 and Taijul was on 14. Rashid grabbed 4 wickets for 47.
