Tigers have started their Pakistan tour with defeat as the hosts won the first of 3-match T20I series in Lahore. Batting first Bangladesh posted 141 which Pakistan successfully chased down in the last over with 5 wickets remaining. Second match of the series will be held on tomorrow (January 25) at the same venue.

Defending 141, Bangladesh started perfectly as Shafiul Islam dismissed Babar Azam in the second delivery of the first over. Mustafiur Rahman added more pressure by picking up the wicket of Mohammad Hafeez who looked in good touch.

Since then it was experienced Shoaib Malik who scored an gritty half-century to guid his side to the victory along with Ahsan Ali’s 36. Despite losing couple of late wickets, Pakistan seal the match with 3 balls remaining as Malik remained not out on 58. Shafiul scalped 2 wickets for 27.

Earlier in the afternoon Mahmudullah decided to bat first after winning the toss. Tamim Iqbal and Naim Sheikh provided 71-run opening stand but after their dismissal other batsmen struggled in the middle. Mahmudullah made unbeaten 19 as Bangladesh managed to post 141 for 5 in 20 overs. Shaheen, Shadab and Rauf shared 1 wicket each for Pakistan.
