Bangladesh to face host England in their first match

Bangladesh will start their ICC Champions Trophy 2017 campaign against Host England tomorrow at Kensington oval, London in a Group A match. Australia and New Zealand are the other teams from the group.

Bangladesh have played two Warm-up matches against Pakistan and India and lost both of them. They lost by 2 wickets against Pakistan and defeated by 240 runs against India.

Bangladesh have returned to the ICC Champions Trophy after 11 years. Last time they participated in this tournament was back in 2006 at India. Habibul Bashar was the captain of the side that time.

So far Bangladesh have played 8 matches in this tournament and won once. That solitary win came against Zimbabwe in 2006. Shahriar Nafees scored century in that match. With 166 runs in 3 matches, he is also highest run scorer for Bangladesh in ICC Champions Trophy. Mohammad Rafique grabbed highest 6 wickets in 8 matches.

Bangladesh have come to play in England after 7 years. That tour was in 2010. They have played 2 tests & 3 ODI’s on that tour and lost all of them.
