All-round heroics from the skipper Shakib Al Hasan has helped Bangladesh to seal successive victory in Tri-Nation T20I Tournament. Bangladesh defeated Afghanistan by 4 wickets in the last group stage match in Chattogram. Two teams will face each other in the final on September 24 in Dhaka.

Chasing 139, Tigers did not have the ideal start by losing both openers for 12. Then Shakib and Mushfiqur Rahim rebuild the innings with a 58-run partnership before Janat dismissed Rahim for 26. Double strike from Rashid Khan put Bangladesh in trouble as Mahmudullah, Sabbir Rahman and Afif got out cheaply.

Shakib on the other end batted sensibly and picked up his ninth T20I fifty to keep his side in the game. Mosaddek Hossain played an cameo knock of unbeaten 19 off 12 balls to guide the Tigers for victory. Shakib was not out on 70 off 45 balls. Naveen and Rashid shared 2 wickes each for the visitors.

Earlier Bangladesh have won the toss and decided to bowl first with one change in the playing eleven. Injured Aminul Islam Biolob was rested and Sabbir Rahman came into the side in his place.

Afghanistan were off to a flying start as their opening pair added 75 runs in before Afif broke the partnership with the wicket of Zazai on 47. Afif then got rid of Asghar for a duck in the same over. Other bowlers also maintained some disciplined bowling in the later overs as they restricted Afghanistan for 138 for 7 in 20 overs. Afif was the most successful bowler for Bangladesh with 2 wickets for 19.

Shakib Al Hasan was named the player of the match.
