BCB Academy Cup to start for first time

Inaugural BCB Academy Cup 2018 is to start from May 20 with 32 Private Cricket Academy  in Dhaka. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have arranged a media conference today at SBNCS, Mirpur in connection to the tournament. CEO of BCB Nizam Uddin Chowdhury and Game Development Chairman Khaled Mahmud Sujan were present on the occasion.

Khaled Mahmud expressed BCB’s plan for the Academy Cup. “For the first time we are arranging BCB Academy Cup. It will be a pilot project for us. We will try to pick some good players from the tournament and arrange a 5-6 weeks training for them. In Academy, players only get the chance to practice. But here they will get the chance play a tournament. Our main intention is to create more excitement among the young players. We will bring the semi-finalist teams under BCB Game Development to give them more facilities. In the future we will to try invite more teams from other districts”

The Tournament will be 40-over format which will run from May 20 to June 5 in three venues inside Dhaka. BKSP, City Club Ground and Dhaka University Ground are probable venues. Matches will played on matting wicket and every match will start from 8:30 am. Below 18 years but more than 15 years are eligible to play in the Academy Cup.

Players Eligibility : Players those who are registered with CCDM and play for clubs/academy in the Dhaka Premier Division/First Division/2nd Division/3rd Division and National Age Group (U15, U17, U9) are not eligible to play in the Academy Cup.

Draw & Fixture : 12 May, 2018 at SBNCS Media Block.

Prize Money : Champion – Tk 100,000, Runner-up – Tk 50,000.
