BCB North Zone goes on top of the table

Victory was only a whisker away for BCB North Zone after the third day of the fifth round of Bangladesh Cricket league (BCL). They needed only 12 overs to snatch the victory against Walton Central Zone. BCB North Zone have gone to top of the table with the win of innings and 85 runs.  The other match between Islami Bank East Zone and Prime Bank South Zone was ended in a draw.

Walton Central Zone needed a miracle to save the match in the fourth day. But Tanbir Hayder and Mohammad Sharif could only delay the defeat. They added another 26 runs in the nith wicket day. Tanvir was out for 51. Sharif added another 16 runs in the last wicket . He was finally unbeaten on 45. Alauddin Babu was the most successful bowler for North Zone grabbing 4 for 67. Sanzamul had a three wicket haul of 114 runs. Naeem Islam was adjudged Man of the Match for his 142 runs and 2 wickets.

The other match between Islami Bank East Zone and Prime Bank South Zone lasted a bit longer. Islami Bank East Zone had to take all the 10 wickets of Prime Bank South Zone in the final day. But they could take 5 wickets eventually and South Zone survived after display of patience from the batsmen. The played 88 overs today and scored a mere 169 runs. All of their top order batsmen reached the double figures except the first innings centurion Imrul Kayes. Fazle Mahmud and Shahriar Nafees top scored with 36 runs. Anamul Hoque scored 35, while Tushar Imran as out on 31 runs.
