An all-round display form the Tigers helped them winning the first T20I comprehensively against Zimbabwe. After fifties from Liton Das and Soumya Sarakr, bowlers put on a disciplined show to seal a 48 runs victory. Second match of the series will be held on March 11 at the same venue.

Batting first, Bangladesh started off their innings on a high note thanks to a 92-run opening stand from the in-form pair Tamim Iqbal and Liton Das. Madhevere got Tamim out on 41 but Liton picked up fifty and dismissed when Raza trapped him lbw on 59.

Then it was all about Soumya who played an qucikfire knock to power the team total to a big total of 200 for 3. Soumya remained unbeaten on 62 off just 32 balls including 4 fours and 5 sixes. His partner Mahmudullah was not out on 14. Madhevere, Raza and Mpofu picked up one wicket each.

In response, Zimbabwe lost the wicket of Taylor in the second over by Shafiul Islam on 1. Then couple of batsmen got the the start but failed to convert them to a big knock. Kamunhukamwe was the highest scorer for the visitors as Zimbabwe were all out for 152 in 19 overs. Mustafizur and Biplob shared 3 wickets each.
