Bangladesh women team lost the first two matches against South Africa in Cox’s Bazar and swooped into a situation to loss the series. However, they have come back strongly in the third match and defended only 136 runs to stay alive in the series.

Bangladeshi women decided to bat first after winning the toss but showed extremely shabby batting performance as they got bowled out by 136 runs in 49 overs. Only five batsmen were able to cross the double digit mark and Rumana, the skipper, was the highest scorer for Bangladesh with her trifle 28 runs innings.

To safeguard this scruple, Bangladeshi bowlers were exceptionally frugal to cram South African women from the very beginning and never allowed them to score any easy run. Khadija tul Kubra was outstanding as she picked up 4 wickets giving only 33 runs in her stipulated 10 overs. Jahanara and Panna were also brilliant to take two wickets each. South Africa could survive only 31.2 overs and got all out by 126 runs. Only two of protean batsmen reached the double digit mark.

South Africa, however, still lead the series by 2-1. The fourth game of the series will be held on January 18.
