Kings put a stop to Victorians winning streak

Rajshahi Kings sealed their third win with a comprehensive 30-run victory against Comilla Victorians in the 27th match of AKS BPL 2017 Powered by Shah Cement.

Winning the toss, Rajshahi Kings opted to bat first at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chittagong. Top order batsmen got the runs and Rajshahi were on verge of scoring past the 150 runs mark. But skipper Darren Sammy had other idea. Sammy played an explosive knock of 47 off just 14 balls which helped Rajshahi Kings to post a decent total of 185 for 7 after 20 overs. Saifuddin picked up 3 wickets for 50.

Chasing 186, Comilla Victorians lost the wickets of Fakhar Zaman and Imrul Kayes early. But captain Tamim Iqbal and Shoaib Malik led the counterattack with a partnership of 87 runs. Tamim was dismissed after scoring 63 while Malik scored 45. After their departure, Rajshahi bowlers got back to the the game by picking up wickets in quick-successions. Comilla were eventually all out for 155 in 19.1 overs. Mohammad Sami was the standout bowler for Rajshahi who bagged 4 wickets for 9.
