Match Report: Spirited Vikings bog Bulls down

A clinical Chittagong Vikings side in all three departments have tried to make best use of their home-advantage as they registered 3rd consecutive win in the AKS BPL T20 2016. Posting a colossal total of 185, the Vikings’ bowlers strangled the BB top order upfront and eventually got them all out for 107.

Climbing the uphill, the Bulls batting rocked from the beginning as they were reduced to 12/4. Mohammad Nabi tore through their top order to claim 3 key wickets as he got unbelievable turn from the pitch. Shuvashish, Shoaib and Taskin joined the party to dismiss Nafees, Mushfiq, Emrit and Perera. Standing on the debris, T20 debutant Enamul Haque tried a late lifting with his unbeaten 42 off 37 but could only minimize the margin to 78 runs. Other than him, only two BB batsmen made double-digit scores.

Earlier in the evening, Dwayne Smith and Tamim Iqbal started it dazzlingly for the Vikings. The former was more aggressive of the two who opened the face of his bat hitting Taijul for 4 fours and 1 six from the BB spinner’s consecutive overs. His 69 off 49 raced the Vikings to 129 from 94 balls before he holed out a full toss from Thisara Perera to deep mid-wicket fielder. However, another big hitter Shoaib Malik was there to continue the storm who, with his 63 from 30 with 9 fours and 2 sixes, lifted the total to 185.
