Two fifties from Najmul Hossain Shanto and skipper Mominul Haque put the Tigers in a commanding position against Zimbabwe in the Only Test. After bowling out the visitors for 265, Bangladesh ended the day on 240 for 3.

Earlier of the day, bowlers did a good job as they bowled out Zimbabwe for 265 who added 37 more runs to their total from the overnight score of 228 for 6. Chakabva was the last man to be dismissed after scoring 30. Nayeem Hasan and Abu Jayed both claimed 4 wickets each while Taijul Islam took the other 2 wickets.

Bangladesh started the innings with the early departure of Saif Hasan for 8. Tamim Iqbal and Shanto then added 78 runs before Tamim got out on 41. Mominul joined with Shanto who looked in good touch at the other end. Shanto then went onto pick up his maiden Test fifty but eventually dismissed by Tshuma after scoring a well-made 71.

Mominul and Mushfiqur Rahim then batted the rest of the evening session and added unbeaten 68-run stand before umpires called an early stumps of second day. Mominul remained not out on 79 and Mushfiqur was on 32. Tiripano, Nyauchi and Tshuma shared one wicket each for Zimbabwe.
