Nasir Hossain scored a solid ton in the second day of NCL round 5 and remained unbeaten on 105 runs. His fifth first class ton helped Rangpur to score 175 runs in reply to Sylhet’s 272 runs.

Nasir came to the crease during a dismal moment for Rangpur as they lost their top 4 batsmen in just 29 runs. Nasir, since played sensibly and produced a rigid resistance along with Dhiman Ghosh and Ariful Haque consecutively. Their minor contributions in the partnership indicate the valor of Nasir as well. He scored 14 fours and 1 six in his160 ball innings.


Tasamul Haque also clinched a hundred at Chittagong for the home side and scored 104 runs. Riding on his century and two other good innings from Nafees Iqbal and Irfan Shukur, Chittagong scored 315 runs. Saqlain Sajib was the most successful bowler for Rajshahi and secured 5 wickets. In reply, Rajshahi ended the day in a very uncomfortable situation as they’ve already lost 8 wickets for scoring 223 runs. Jahurul Haque and Junaid Siddique both got fifty but missed out to elongate their innings.

In reply of Dhaka Metropolis’ 292 runs, Barisal ended the day on 165/5. Monir Hossain’s fifer helped Barisal to resist Dhaka Metro within 300 runs. In another tier 1 match at Fatullah, Saif Hassan secured his due hundred and helped Dhaka Division to score a big total of 366 runs. Abdur Razzaq has taken his 26th fifer in the first class cricket for Khulna Division. In reply, Khulna Division are not in a favorable situation as they have lost 5 wickets by 195 runs. Tushar Imran is still unbeaten on 71 runs and he has to perform a huge task tomorrow.
