David Malan could not click well with the bat for the Barisal Bulls in their previous three fixtures. However, he has found his form back from the English county cricket as he helped his BPL side to their consecutive 3rd win in their current run.
Chasing down a target of 164, Malan lost his opening pair Joshua Cobb off the second over. Yet, he steadily flourished with Shahriar Nafees with whom he then made a massive 150 runs stand. Both of them started it cautiously and then interspersed a stroke powered partnership with ample singles. Malan took time to go on a roll when Nafees grew the run at an increasing rate. 34 needed from 18, Malan singled out Dwayne Smith to pull out a storm. He smacked the Caribbean all-rounder for back-to-back three sixes and got the pressure reduced. Two fuller on off stump and then another one on leg stump, Malan made all three to the stands, over deep mid-wicket, long-on and long-off respectively.
Nafees was bowled out by Imran Khan Jr off the 19th over for 65. Malan, albeit, survived till Mushfiq made it past the finish line. His unbeaten knock of 78 runs came out off 48 balls, smashing 3 fours and 7 sixes.
