Mominul, Zakir guided Rajshahi Kings to their second win in the AKS BPL 2017 Powered by Shah Cement by beating Sylhet Sixers at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS).
Opting to bowl first, Mohammed Sami and Mehidy Hasan Miraz gave a good start to Rajshahi Kings by picking up two early wickets. Sixers were in trouble after losing 5 wickets for 71. Then Sabbir Rahman and Tim Bresnan added 69 runs in the 6th wicket. Sixers managed to post 146 for 6 after 20 overs. Sabbir was dismissed after scoring 41 off 26 balls. Kesrick Williams picked up 2 wickets for 32.
In reply new opening pair Mominul Haque and Rony Talukdar gave Rajshahi Kings a solid start with a partnership of 65. Despite losing couple of wickets between short span, Zakir Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim made an unbeaten 53-run partnership in the 4th wicket and helped the Kings to seal a comfortable 7-wicket victory with 15 balls remaining. Zakir Hasan was not out on 51 and Mushfiqur was on 25.
Zakir Hasan was named man of the match for his match-winning knock of 51 off 26 balls.
