Rubel leaves South Zone on top

22 yards mattered less on the second day of BCL in Sylhet. After the utter domination of the batsmen, Rubel Hossain has executed one of his most lethal and joyful spells of pace and swing. Red-hot Rubel took the pitch simply out of equation and led South Zone to the verge of a win in the second round of BCL. In reply to South Zone’s first innings total of 403 runs, East Zone have been enforced to follow on after getting all out by 144 runs. Their coarse batting performance continued in the second innings as they have lost 5 wickets already to put 74 runs on the  board.

Rubel, being splendid with his natural pace, destructed East Zone’s first innings with a spell of 10-2-22-5. The aggression and the momentum followed in the second innings as well. But this time, spinners were on charge and executed frugal bowling display. Sohag Gazi picked one wicket and Abdur Razzak picked up two.

Mustafizur Rahman made his comeback in this match and bowled 13 overs all along the day to pick up two wickets. He broke the stumps of Irfan Sukkur in his very first ball and forced Shahanur Rahman to stumble with a slower.

In another match at Chittagong, Junaid Siddique missed out to score a double ton. He was remained unbeaten on 172 run yesterday but only added 9 today’s morning. North Zone’s late order did the trick for them as they defended like a rock and rendered North Zone to put 502 runs on the board.

Central Zone is replying decently so far. Saif Hasan’s unbeaten 52 helped them to end the day on 120 runs with 7 wickets in hand.
