Skipper Mushfiqur Rahim and young seamer Shahidul Islam helped Khulna Tigers maintain their good run in Bangabandhu BPL T20 2019 with another easy victory against Rangpur Rangers. Following the win, Khulna Tigers are now at the third spot on the points table with
8 points in 6 matches.
Rangpur Ranger’s were set by a target of 183 which they were never looked comfortable while chasing. Ranger’s new recruit veteran all-rounder Shane Watson who also appointed as a captain did not have the ideal start with the bat as he gone for just 5 runs. Naim Sheikh played cameo knock of 20 off 9 balls but his innings was cut short by Mohammad Amir.
On the other end, Shahidul Islam caused damage in the Rangers middle order by picking up couple of quick wickets. Lewis Gregory scored the highest 34 as Rangers managed to post 130 for 9. Player of the match Shahidul bagged 4 wickets for 23.
Earlier Khulna Tigers big total on the board was powered by skipper Mushfiqur Rahim’s another fifty. Mushfiqur was well supported by Najibullah Zadran who made quickfire 46 as Khulna put 182 for 7 after 20 overs. Mustafizur took 3 wickets for 28.
