Bangladesh have suffered defeat in the second Test as the hosts clinched the series with a 2-0 lead in the three-match series. On the final day, Tigers lost the match by an innings and 12 runs.
Bangladesh resumed the fifth day with the overnight score of 80 for in the second inning trailing by 141 runs. Mohammad Mithun and Soumya Sarkar's resistance were broked by Trent Boult who dismissed Soumya on 28. Mithun was the next man to go after scoring a well-made 47. Then Liton Kumar Das and Taijul Islam got out cheaply as Bangladesh reduced to 170 for 7.
Skipper Mahmudullah on the other end played an attacking knock of 67 off 69 balls to overcome the innings defeat. But his effort was in vain as Boult and Wagner snapped up the rest of the wickets i hurry to all out Bangladesh for 209 in 56 overs. Wagner scalped 5 wickets for 45 while Boult claimed 4 wickets for 52 for the Kiwis.
Third and final Test of the series will start from March 16 at Hagley Oval, Christchurch.
