[Press Conference] Mushfiqur hopeful of performing well in South Africa
Ahead of the South Africa tour, Test captain Mushfiqur Rahim spoke to the media today in SBNCS media block. Mushfiqur expressed his desire to do well in the South Africa and keep the recent success in Tests. “It is not an easy job for any side to beat South Africa in their conditions. But we are hopeful that this time we will do well comparing to our last tour in South Africa. We are now more balanced and improved team. If we can set our skills and execute it perfectly then surely as a team we will perform well." Mushfiqur also discussed Shakib Al Hasan's rest from the Test series. "Absence of Shakib will be a big loss for us. In his place, we have to play an extra batsman and bowler in the team. But it's not the first time we will be playing without him. We beat West Indies in ODI and whitewashed New Zealand without him. So of course we will miss him but it will be a test for the rest of players to show that we can play well even without the best all-rounder in the world. I hope after the break he will comeback stronger" Bangladesh will play 2 Tests, 3 ODIs and 2 T20Is in the tour. Before the first Test, Tigers will play a 3-day practice match against South African Invitation XI on 21 September. First Test will start on 28 September.
