Performer of the Match: Lewis came, he saw, he wreaked havoc
Elvin Lewis has provided the Mirpur crowd with a visual treat in his first appearance in the AKS BPL T20 2016 and helped the Dhaka side clinch a comprehensive victory over the Rangpur Riders. The Caribbean batsman continued with his flourishing form from his national side to the BPL as he set the platform for Dhaka’s 188 run total with his blistering knock of 34-ball 75. Joining Mehedi Maruf to open the innings, Lewis dominated over the Riders bowling from the beginning as he bashed the second ball he faced for a boundary through the point. From the same over, he pulled another delivery from Sohag Gazi over the square leg. Other than Gazi, Lewis particularly punished Afridi whom he sent to the stands for three sixes from a single over and notched up his first fifty of this season from 21 balls. His 75-run stand from 34 balls, decorated by 3 fours and 8 sixes, came to an end when he holed out an attempted slog to Elias Sunny at long-off.
