Earlier the match was reduced to 10 overs as rain delayed the start of the match for coupe of hours. Bangladesh made three changes in the playing XI from the last match as Najmul Hossain, Mosaddek Hossain and Rubel Hossain came to the side replacing Mahmudullah, Mohammad Mithun and Mohammad Saifuddin. Skipper Mahmudullah ruled out of the match due to an injury. Liton Kumar Das made his captaincy debut for Bangladesh in this match. Two Blackcaps opener Guptill and Allen were all over the bowlers from the start as they set the platform for their side for a big total. Guptill was dismissed after scoring 44. But it was Allen who made the main damage with his 29-ball 71-run knock. New Zealand posted a massive 144 for after 10 overs. Shoriful, Taskin and Mahedi shared 1 wicket each. In response, only Naim Sheikh and Soumya Sarkar looked in touch with couple of big hitting early in the innings. But both failed to score big as Bangladesh suffered batting collapse and were all out for 76 in 9.3 overs. Astle picked up 4 wickets for 13 for New Zealand.
