At 117 for 5, New Zealand were in trouble. But Phillips came to the rescue with Daryl as the pair added quickfire 62 runs partnership. Rain interrupted the play twice as New Zealand ended their innings on 173 for 5 in 16.5 overs. Philips was not out on 58 and Daryl was on 34. Revised target for Bangladesh set for 170 in 16 overs. Bad run continue for Liton Kumar in the tour as he gone early for 6. Following his departure, Soumya Sarkar launched attack on the New Zealand bowlers. During his 81-run stand with Naim Sheikh Tigers looked all set for tight finish in the chase. But New Zealand made their way back in the macth after Soumya got out after scoring 51 off 27 balls. Bangladesh lost 5 wickets for 37 and finally managed to post 142 for 7 after 20 overs. Southee, Bennett and Milne shared 2 wickets each for New Zealand.
