Bangladesh suffered successive defeat as Sri Lanka clinched the 3-match ODI series with one match remaining. They defeated Bangladesh by 7 wickets in the second ODI at Colombo. Third and final match of the series will be held on July 31 at the same venue. Earlier Tamim Iqbal opted to bat first after winning the toss. Bangladesh made one change in the playing eleven by replacing Rubel Hossain with Taijul Islam. Top order collapsed again as the Tigers were reduced to 117 6 and were in all sorts of trouble. Highest scorer Mushfiqur Rahim theb came to the rescue with Mehidy Hasan Miraz by adding 84 runs in the seventh wicket which helped Bangladesh to post a total of 238 for 8. Mushfiqur was remained unbeaten on 98 while Mehidy got out on 43. During the knock, Mushfiqur became the third Bangladesh batsman to score 6000 runs in ODIs. Dananjaya, Pradeep and Udana shared 2 wickets each. In reply, the hosts were off to a flying start as Avishka Fernando's 75-ball 82-run knock gave them a solid foundation in the chase. Mustafizur Rahman picked up two wickets in the middle overs to put some pressure on Sri Lanka. But Angelo Mathews and Kusal Perera's 96-run partnership ensured them a easy win with 7 wickets remaining.
