Bumrah was the most succesfull bowler for India with 4 wickets for 55. Earlier, India opted to bat first after winning the toss. Bangladesh included Sabbir Rahman and Rubel Hossain in place of injured Mahmudullah and Mehidy Hasan Miraz. India had perfect start as Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul made the tournament's highest opening stand of 180. Soumya finally broke the partnership with the wicket of Rohit for 102. Bangladesh bowlers then fought-back led by Mustafizur Rahman who run through the India middle order to restrict them from posting a big total. KL Rahul's 77 and Rishabh Pant's quick-fire 48 powered India to post 314 for 9 in 50 overs. Mustafizur scalped 5 wickets for 59. It was his first five-wicket haul in the World Cup and overall fourth in ODIs.
