Being a must win game, this defeat has ensured Bangladesh’s exit from the ICC Women’s World Cup qualifier. Set a target of 198, Bangladesh were on 68/5 after 21 overs when rain interrupted the play. Sri Lanka were then declared winner by 42 runs on D/L method.Opting to bowl first, Bangladesh women restricted the opponents to 197 for 9. Sri Lanka’s total was built on an industrious innings of Chamari Atapattu who scored 84 off 114 with 8 fours and 1 six. Coming at number 3, Chamari was bowled by Salma Khatun as 8th batsman.
