Mushfiq carries Bangladesh's hope after Shakib's fall
Tea: Day 3 India 687/6d (Kohli 204, Taijul 3/156) Bangladesh 246/6 (Mushfiq 47*, Miraz 9*)
Shakib al Hasan was doing really well to revamp Bangladesh’s early damage along with Mushfiqur Rahim. He was on sheer dominance with utter confidence and showed firm determination. But again he lost his temper suddenly and tried to slog a ball unnecessarily. He completely mis-hit that ball and could only manage the hands in the mid-on. Bangladesh again fell into a pitfall since they have already lost 6 wickets but still trail 441 runs. The veteran duo, Mushfiq and Shakib, however, were playing confidently after lunch break and made another hundred runs partnership. But, they struggled immensely while running between the wickets and messed up couple of times. Fortunately Mushfiq survived in all occasions. Mushfiq’s revival from a tough runout scenario can be called as the most significant part of this session. He responded to Shakib sluggishly to take a single and dived desperately to reach the crease in time on the keeper’s end. His bat, however, jumped up the air after hitting the ground and at a time, Saha broke the stumps. It was a tough call for the third umpire as the bells were coming out of grooves when Mushfiq was sliding just on the line. Umpire ultimately gave the benefit of the doubt to the batsman. Sabbir came to the ground after Shakib’s fall but couldn’t hold his sway. He attempted to sweep a delivery from Jadeja, missed the length and judged out. Mushfiq and Miraz went for tea with a pounding task on head.
