Bangladesh suffer defeat in the second Test by 209 runs on the fifth day Mehidy Hasan played an fighting knock in the morning but it only delayed victory for the hosts. Following the win, Sri Lanka clinched the 2-match Test series 1-0.
Tigers started the day with a mammoth task to save the match as they lost half of the batsmen yesterday. Two overnight batsmen Liton and Mehidy resumed the innings. Any chance for Bangladesh to get a positive result was depending on the pair. But Liton got out for 17 in the third over of the day.
From there it was only about time before Sri Lanka wrapped up the innings as only Miraz showed some resistance. Miraz was eventually dismissed after scoring 39. Bangladesh were all out for 227. Jayawickrama bagged 5 wickets for 86.
