An spirited Chattogram Challengers defeated Dhaka Platoon in the Eliminator and qualify for the Qualifier 2. After restricting the Platoon for 144, Challengers claimed the victory with 7 wickets and 14 balls remaining. The winner of the clash between Khulna Tigers and Rajshahi Royals will take on Challengers on January 15.
Batting first, Platoon faced top order batting collapse and found themself in big trouble after losing 7 wickets for just 60 runs. But it was all-rounder Shadab Khan who came to the rescue with an brilliant knock of unbeaten 64 off 45 balls. He got little support from Thisara Perera who scored 25 as Platoon posted a formidable total of 144 for 8. Player of the match Rayad Emrit picked up 3 wickets for 23.
Challengers started with Ziaur Rahman's little 12-ball 25-run cameo knock. Chris Gayle and Imrul Kayes then scored two 30-plus knocks which set the platform for a easy win. Skipper Mahmudullah and Chadwick Walton helped them seal the match with unbeaten 45-run stand in the 4th wicket. Mahmudullah was not out on 34 and Walton was on 11. Shadab bagged 2 wickets for 32 for the Platoon.
