One of the most recent young talents Bangladesh have produced, Soumya Sarkar featured as the ‘surprise package’ for his side in the last World Cup. With an elegant batting style and an exceptional sense of calmness, the young top order batting allrounder has drawn much attention since his debut. He remained instrumental in the Tigers’ post-world cup dream-run at home. Sarkar scored 672 runs in 15 ODIs last year, with the highest average in his team. He also has the best average in a calendar year for a Bangladeshi batsman who has made at least 500 runs in that year.Soumya has played for three different sides in previous BPL seasons. He will continue with the Rangpur Riders this season in hunt of their first ever glory to the title.
